Its latest efforts, CARRIAGE MAKER PLACE, has the Winchester Housing Authority Development Corporation (WHADC) planning for the location of an age restricted, thirty-two (32) unit affordable housing community adjacent to its Greenwoods Garden facility on Gay Street. The Town of Winchester welcomes the efforts of the WHADC in complimenting its efforts to revitalize Winsted's downtown, including removal of derelict buildings, and adding to downtown foot traffic for shopping.

Currently, there are forty-five (45) Winsted residents who have indicated an interest in Carriage Maker Place and have asked to be placed on an “Interest List” mailing.
